Honorable Paul Osae Offei has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive officer for the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly, the voting was held at the assembly’s hall on the Monday,12th May 2025.
The ceremony was preceded by swearing in of 12 government appointees by the electoral commission.
Hon. Paul Osae, secured 25 out of 36 votes cast and 1 rejected ballot, representing more than two thirds of assembly members and government appointees present and voting.
The MCE elect was voted in a one-time election and declared by the District Electoral Commissioner, Miss Afua Asomaning.
In his acceptance speech, Hon Paul Osae Offei expressed his profound gratitude to the President, John Dramani Mahama, for the nomination and the assembly members for their trust and immense support. He vowed to change the status quo of Aburi by tapping into its potential to create a modern municipality to lift the image of Aburi high especially in the tourism sector.
Also, he called on all and sundry to be united and work towards improving the municipality, and also highlighted his commitment to leaving a legacy behind, assuring that he would laisse with the Member of Parliament, Hon. Adwoa Dziwornu to develop Aburi.
In the Member of Parliament speech, Hon. Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu also thanked assembly members and appointees, she reiterated that she is a mother for all and is willing to work with the elected Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E). She debunked rumors that the MCE and her person are divided, therefore charged her followers to desist from creating camps to disrupt progress envisioned for the municipality.
Other matters and activities were postponed to the next assembly meeting due to power fluctuation.
